The Merchant Hotel was the venue for the recent Optilase Ball in celebration for it becoming European leader for the Kamra treatment, a surgery to eliminate the need for reading glasses. Representatives of the Optilase group which has a branch in Newry’s Merchants Quay were presented with a prestigious award. Guests at the event included model and personality Gemma Garret and Downtown Radio DJs Big T and George Jones (who sang a few tunes). The James Peake Show Band had everyone dancing until the wee small hours. Optilase introduced the Kamra Treatment to eliminate reading glasses last year and is now leader in Europe and second in the world for the treatment which is exclusively available at Optilase in Northern Ireland.
