Q RADIO Network officially launched its new look and sound at a re-brand celebration event in Belfast recently. The radio group part of Northern Media Group owns six local radio stations across the north. The re-brand sees the group’s three youngest stations, Five FM, Six FM and Seven FM rebrand as Q100.5, Q106 and Q107 respectively to sit in line with the original Q stations. The radio stations provide a unique local platform for listeners, focusing on news, sports, traffic, travel and weather while reaching parts of the north, particularly rural areas where other stations do not. Speaking at the event, Q Radio Network managing director Robert Walshe said: “We are extremely excited to launch our re-branded station. The Q brand is well established and has enjoyed great success in the local media market here in Northern Ireland and the decision to bring 5FM, 6FM and 7FM under this umbrella not only recognises the strong heritage and success of the existing Q brand, but it also gives the group as a whole a more cohesive and stronger identity in the marketplace.”
