Hill Street was transformed into a film set last week as ‘Lights. Camera. Action!was called on a television ad for AXA Insurance. Trading came to a virtual standstill as passers by and local business people stopped to watch the action unfold. Louise Holt manager of the Newry AXA branch said she was delighted that the Hill Street offices were ed to feature in the company’s 2012 campaign. “As a Newry native I am hopeful people will recognise on the TV and the advertisement will help promote the entire city,” she said. “The AXA office in Newry has grown significantly over the last few years and we are known for the friendly local service and of course our competitive prices for car insurance.” Filming of the new advert was overseen by the award-winning Irish director Paddy Breathnach, who has directed many well know films including I Went Down, Man About Dog and Shrooms. AXA will be using local employees in the ad as well as Northern Ireland actor Richard Clements who has experience in theatre, TV and feature film productions. The AXA ad featuring Hill Street and the local Newry branch is scheduled to appear on TV from February 6.
