Spring into the new season with Newry Style City

It is time to pack away your winter woollies and spring into a new season with the return of Newry Style City 2013.

Dedicated followers of fashion and style sirens alike will have a field day with fashionable events right across the city from Thursday 18th April through to Sunday 21st April. The photo-shoots are complete, the venues are ready and the shops are just bursting at the seams, now all we need is you.  With a series of free and ticketed events catering for all tastes and styles there is something for everyone.

Colleen Dowdall, Acting Chief Executive of Newry Chamber of Commerce and Trade and Chair of the Newry Style City Committee said, “We are thrilled to once again bring Newry Style City to life to showcase the fabulous retail and service sectors in our city. This year we are working in partnership with Southern Regional College and indeed working in conjunction with our main sponsors Newry & Mourne District Council, Newry City Centre Management, Buttercrane Shopping Centre, The Quays Shopping & Leisure Centre, retailers and in kind sponsors from local suppliers to bring a world class fashion festival to this area. We would like to thank all of those who have supported us in making this happen for a 3rd year and we look forward to welcoming people from right across the south eastern region to our many stylish events.”

Newry Style City 2013 will feature some new additions including – ‘Southern Regional College Style Secrets featuring Marietta Doran at Bellini’s on Friday at 12.30pm -2.00pm.   Here you will have an opportunity to get tips how to dress for different occasions, work wear, smart casual and occasion wear. There will also be a Master class for the City’s retailers from 3.00pm -4.30pm in Bellini’s where Marietta Doran will show retailers how to improve sales and provide an extra level of customer service by customer styling.

Newry’s Most Stylish awards hosted by Connor Philips from Cool Fm will return for a 3rd year on Friday 19th April at 7pm in the Bank Nightclub. The most stylish people in Newry will walk away with a host of amazing prizes.

Newry Style City 2013 will officially close with a glamorous Fashion Afternoon Tea in the Canal Court from 3.00pm -5.00pm featuring Berling, Silk, JV Kelly, Jack Murphy Jewellery, Cahill Bros, Elite Hats & McAdorey Opticians. 

Throughout the fashion festival there will be events across the city including Fashion Shows in the Buttercrane, The Quays Shopping & Leisure centre along with a fashion show in McEvoy’s Drapery Monaghan Street on Wednesday 17th April at 7.30pm, the exclusive ‘Diamonds & Daiquiris’ event at Jack Murphy Jewellers on Thursday 18th April 2013 from 6.00pm -8.00pm followed by St John Bosco Presenting the golden jubilee Fashion show on Thursday 18th April at 8pm in Bellini’s. On Saturday 20th April there will be fashion shows across the city including A Swim and Sleep wear event in Azizi Lingerie Kildare Street from 10.30 am – 12.00 noon. The Quaystyle fashion event will happen in the Quays Shopping & Leisure Centre from 1.00-4.00pm & Beautiful Style Day in the Buttercrane from 1.00pm -4.00pm.

Tickets are available for the Southern Regional College from the reception of the Southern Regional College and The Fashion Afternoon Tea from the Canal Court with numbers limited for both or by contacting any of the Style City team via Facebook or email.
