Two Newry companies have just completed a record deal that saw the installation of 260 phone connections on 190 heavy goods vehicles (HGVs). JMC Mobile installed the connections in Surefreight’s heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) in which was the biggest deal in the history of both companies. JMC Mobile’s six man installation team installed phone kits into HGVs in Surefreight’s sites in Newry, Cardiff, Heysham and Bradford. Overall the deal has provided a 37 per cent saving on Surefreight’s monthly bill. As well as creating a huge saving for Surefreight the deal represents a huge success for JMC Mobile having seen record growth in 2012 and 2013 and now completing a deal with one of Ireland and Britain’s largest haulage companies. Jim Finnegan founder and Managing Director said that the contract was a significant undertaking for the company. “Having recently opened new premises in Leeds and with our commitment to growth and expansion we knew we had the resources to deliver it on time and on budget,” he said. “JMC Mobile has always had the support of local business in Newry and we are delighted to be awarded this work from another thriving business based in the local area. Surefreight have proven themselves as one of the strongest forces in logistics in Britain and Ireland and to have association with this fantastic business is welcomed by JMC Mobile.” Brian McManus Managing Director of Surefreight said they were pleased with the deal. “The safety of our drivers is paramount to Surefreight and the systems that JMC Mobile have installed in 190 of our HGVs will assist our drivers greatly and insures their concentration is not compromised,” he said. “As well as this communication between our drivers is vital in order to inform and warn other drivers of the necessary information required to help our business run as smoothly as possible. These mobile voice-connections in each cab will now make communication even easier for our drivers. JMC were able to provide a quick efficient installation system and with JMC having a presence here in Northern Ireland and northern England it made the process even easier to manage.”
